JAMMU: A meeting of J&K United School Teachers Association was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Hari Singh, provincial president at Jammu to draw the attention of government on the following burning demands.
1. To adjust repatriated masters and lecturers suitably.
2. Release long pending salary of teachers working under various schemes.
3. Adjust masters and lecturers whose DPC has already been made.
4. Fill all vacant posts in Education Department and debar teachers from non-teaching duties.
5. Release senior teachers grade in favour of under graduate teachers.
6. Clear all long pending charges under midday meal.
7. Release 17% DA.
Meeting in one voice demands high level inquiry and action under rule against all those who are responsible for present mess in Education Department. USTA expresses its dissatisfaction over the way recent transfers and adjustments of deployed masters , lecturers and principals were made ,those who have already served and completed their tenure in far flung and tedious areas away from their houses like old Doda District ,Leh , Kargil,Banietc.were again tossed tofar away places without making proper exercise.
USTA appeals the authorities at the helm of affairs to review such most genuine cases. USTA stressed upon the authorities at the helm of affairs to frame and strictly adopt certain transfer norms, while transferring and adjusting all categories of teachers, there should be counselling with teachers as well as first page of their service book and previous two tenure must be considered in the process. USTA demands transfer of all those masters and lecturers who have completedtheir tenure and still working in far flung areas.
USTA strongly criticised the central and state governments for not releasing salary grants in favour of teachers working under SSA, RMSA, and NPSetc.Moreover masters who were either repatriated or dislocated by authorities to serve their vested interests and deployed without post are without salary for last five months for no fault of theirs.USTA demands early clearance of all dues of teaching community by the end of this month.
The meeting demanded adjustment of all masters and lecturers in one go whose DPC has been made. USTA calls upon the authorities to concede these genuine demands at an earliest otherwise USTA will be compelled to initiate mass struggle in near future. Others who were present in the meeting were Rajeev Kumar, Pradeep Singh Shashi Pal, Julfkar, Raj Kumar,Sirajudeen, DarshanLal, and Madan Singh.
