DODA: Government Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh organised an Awareness Lecture and Pledge-Taking Ceremony under the nationwide Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, aimed at promoting a drug-free and healthy society.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal of the College, Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, who highlighted the crucial role of educational institutions in shaping responsible and addiction-free youth.

Nodal Officer, Dr. Anupam Lata delivered a detailed and informative awareness lecture focusing on the ill effects of substance abuse and its adverse impact on individuals, families and communities. She stressed the importance of preventive awareness, strong family support and community participation to counter the rising threat of drug addiction.

Following the lecture, a pledge-taking ceremony was organised in which students, teaching and non-teaching staff and various participants vowed to abstain from substance abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle.

The event saw the participation of Social Welfare Department officials including Rehya Manhas and Shazia Anjum, along with Balwan Singh (PE Teacher), Yassir Nazir (Teacher), HC Latif Ahmed and others. The programme concluded with a collective commitment to strengthen the vision of a Nasha Mukht Bharat through continuous awareness, community engagement and youth empowerment.
