IIM Jammu fosters young minds through enriching campus immersion for Class XII students from Army Public School Udhampur

• Visit offers students exposure to world-class management education, modern infrastructure, and the inspiring journey of IIM Jammu

JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu, under the visionary leadership of Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, hosted an enriching campus immersion visit for 41 students of Class XII (Commerce stream) from Army Public School (APS), Udhampur, on 29 October 2025. The visit formed part of IIM Jammu’s outreach initiative to build academic awareness and inspire young minds from schools across the Union Territory of Jammu &Kashmir. The delegation was accompanied by Shri Rakesh Sharma and Ms. Sonika Rajput, faculty members of Army Public School Udhampur.

The students received a warm and enthusiastic welcome, beginning from the IIM Jammu Clock Tower, followed by a detailed campus tour covering the Reception Area, Academic Office, Mandapam Auditorium, Vedanta MDP Block, Smart Classrooms, Courtyard Area, Vishrantika Faculty Lounge, Manthan, Nalanda Library, Rangmanch Amphitheatre, and Jalpan Kendra. The visit also included a viewing of the campus scale model, giving students a holistic understanding of IIM Jammu’s world-class infrastructure and its future expansion vision.

During the academic interaction, the delegation received a comprehensive overview of the diverse academic programs offered at IIM Jammu. The students and faculty were also introduced to IIM Jammu’s Centres of Excellence, which foster innovation, research, and societal development. The visit to the state-of-the-art Nalanda Library deeply inspired the students. With digital resources, advanced reading zones, and Bloomberg Terminals for live financial analysis, the library reflects IIM Jammu’s commitment to global learning standards.

As part of the visit, the students viewed three audio-visual films on the evolution of IIM Jammu,showcasing its growth since 2016, commitment to academic excellence, and role in nation-building. They were also introduced to IIM Jammu’s official website and social media platforms and were encouraged to stay connected for updates on admissions, scholarships, academic activities, and student initiatives.

The students and accompanying teachers were also briefed on IIM Jammu’s rising global prominence. The institute has achieved significant international recognition by securing two prestigious global accreditations, BGA (Business Graduates Association) Institutional Accreditation and EFMD Programme Accreditation for its MBA programme. With this achievement, IIM Jammu has positioned itself among the top five IIMs in India to receive dual international accreditation. Notably, it is the only second- and third-generation IIM in the country to attain this distinction. The institute is now steadily progressing toward AACSB Accreditation, an important milestone that will place itamong the elite group of Triple Crown Accredited business schools worldwide.

The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students enthusiastically engaged with concerned stakeholders to learn about careers in business, entrepreneurship, finance, analytics, and global leadership. The students expressed gratitude to IIM Jammu for the memorable experience, motivational guidance, and exposure to a world-class learning environment. The visit reflects IIM Jammu’s ongoing mission to strengthen school–institute engagement and contribute to youth development across the Himalayan region.
