JAMMU: IIM Jammu hosted an academic visit and campus tour for students from Capt. Vikram Batra Boys Hostel, Udhampur, and Army Public School, Sunjwan on 21st Nov 2025. The delegation from Capt. Vikram Batra Boys Hostel included 34 students from Classes V to XI, who are wards of Army personnel and boys from economically weaker and backward sections of the Gujjar and Bakarwal community, accompanied by Subedar Lokesh and Lance Naik Anish Kumar. Army Public School, Sunjwan was represented by 42 students from Class IX, accompanied by two teachers, Mrs. Sumegha Sharma and Mr. Surinder Mohan.
The students and teachers received a warm welcome at IIM Jammu, beginning their visit at the iconic Clock Tower, followed by a comprehensive campus tour covering the Grand Reception Area, Mandapam Auditorium, Vedanta MDP Block, Vishrantika Faculty Lounge, Smart Classrooms, Courtyard Area, Nalanda Library, Rangmanch Amphitheatre, Jalpan Kendra. At the Vedanta MDP Centre, they were briefed by Shri Pardeep Saini, Program Officer, Business Development on IIM Jammuâs Executive Education and Consultancy Division and its training programsThey also observed the detailed campus-scale model, showcasing the instituteâs world-class infrastructure and future expansion plans.
During the academic interaction, the delegation learned about IIM Jammuâs diverse academic programs and its Centres of Excellence that promote innovation, research, and social impact. The visit to the Nalanda Library, equipped with digital resources, advanced reading spaces, and Bloomberg Terminals for real-time financial analysis, highlighted the instituteâs commitment to global education standards.
They also viewed audio-visual films depicting IIM Jammuâs journey since its inception in 2016, its rise in academic excellence, and its contribution to nation-building. The visitors explored IIM Jammuâs official website and social media platforms, encouraging continuous engagement with the instituteâs latest developments in admissions, scholarships, and student initiatives.
The students and teachers were also informed about IIM Jammuâs dual international accreditations, BGA Institutional Accreditation and EFMD Programme Accreditation for its MBA program, placing it among the top five IIMs in India with such distinction and the only second- and third-generation IIM to attain it. IIM Jammu is now progressing toward AACSB Accreditation, which will place it among the global elite Triple Crown Accredited business schools.
The visit concluded with an interactive session where the students engaged with IIM Jammu representatives on opportunities in management, entrepreneurship, finance, analytics, and leadership. The interaction also highlighted IIM Jammuâs ongoing efforts to build strong community engagement and contribute to development across the Himalayan region. The visit, along with the briefing on various academic programmes and career counselling, was coordinated by the Media and Publication Division, IIM Jammu.
