• DC Administers pledge, stresses collective resolve for a drug-free society

BANDIPORA: The District Administration Bandipora on Tuesday observed the 5th Anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) with the mass pledge ceremonies held across the district.  As part of the nationwide celebrations commemorating five years of NMBA, the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, administered the Pledge Against Drug Abuse to officers, officials and staff members of various departments at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of strengthening community engagement to curb substance abuse. She emphasised that collective awareness, timely intervention, and active involvement of families, institutions and local communities are crucial to building a drug-free society. 

She urged all departments to continue sustained efforts under NMBA and reinforce the message of responsible and healthy living among youth. As part of the observance, mass pledge ceremonies were organised in all government offices and educational institutions across the district, with Heads of Institutions and sectoral officers ensuring widespread participation.

The events showcased the commitment of employees, teachers, students, and field functionaries toward promoting a society free from drug addiction. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also felicitated the winning students of the Essay and Painting Competitions held under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, appreciating their creative efforts in promoting awareness against drug abuse.

District Administration Bandipora appreciated the participation and cooperation of all departments and institutions in reaffirming their resolve to combat drug abuse and contribute to creating a healthier, safer, and more aware community.
