JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir General Secretary and former Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria, kick started the blacktopping work at Ward No. 55, Apna Vihar, and adjoining areas falling in RS Pura–Jammu South Assembly constituency.

The project is being executed through the Jammu Municipal Corporation at an estimated cost of ₹10 lakh. On the occasion, BJP District Jammu South President Naresh Jasrotia, Mandal President Ajay Pratap Singh, Sohan Singh Katal, State Executive Committee Member Rajinder Chib (Poppy), District Secretary Ranjit Singh, departmental officials and several prominent citizens were present. 

Speaking on the occasion, Baldev Singh Billawaria said the project fulfils a long-pending demand of the local residents and has been made possible through the efforts of MLA Dr. Narinder Singh. He added that once completed, the road will provide major relief to commuters and significantly improve connectivity in the area. Appreciating the ongoing development initiatives undertaken by MLA Dr. Narinder Singh in RS Pura–Jammu South, he noted that BJP’s elected representatives and the organisation remain fully committed to inclusive and unbiased development.

He assured that several more public-oriented development projects will be completed in a phased manner in the coming days. Billawaria instructed the concerned engineers and contractors to ensure the use of high-quality materials and to complete the work in a time-bound, transparent, and standard-compliant manner so that residents receive long-term benefit. He added that the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has accelerated development works across all wards, and their positive impact is now clearly visible on the ground. 

He further said that the Corporation is working continuously to provide better civic amenities at every level, while the Modi Government at the Centre is also committed to resolving people’s issues and accelerating developmental activities across J&K. Billawaria appealed to citizens to cooperate in keeping Jammu clean and green, participate in maximum plantation drives, avoid the use of plastic/polythene carry bags, and refrain from dumping waste or debris in drainage channels. 

He reaffirmed that developmental works across the RS Pura–Jammu South Assembly segment are progressing steadily and all essential projects will be completed in a phased manner. Local residents expressed gratitude to the BJP leadership for initiating this important project, stating that the completion of the road will greatly ease their daily commute and bring significant improvement to the road infrastructure of the area.
