JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary and former Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria, today addressed an important organizational meeting in the Basohli Assembly Constituency. The meeting witnessed the participation of BJP Pahari District President Gopal Kishan, DDC Chairman Col. Mahan Singh, MLA-Basohli Darshan Singh, BJP Pahari District In-charge Amar Singh, along with senior party office bearers, mandal presidents, booth presidents, morcha presidents, and a large number of dedicated workers. During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on major ongoing BJP initiatives such as “Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” “Sardar Patel @150,” “Vande Mataram @150,” and strategies for the upcoming local bodies and panchayat elections.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is rapidly moving towards self-reliance. He emphasized that under the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan,” the government has launched several initiatives to promote local industries, startups, agriculture, and technological innovation, ensuring that their benefits reach every citizen.
Highlighting the “Sardar Patel @150” campaign, Billawaria said that the BJP is committed to spreading the message of national unity and recalling the ideals of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on his 150th birth anniversary year. He further elaborated on the “Vande Mataram @150” campaign, which aims to celebrate and promote the historical and cultural significance of the national song “Vande Mataram.” He noted that “Vande Mataram is not merely a song, but the soul of the nation and a symbol of love for the motherland.” The campaign seeks to connect the youth with India’s glorious history, inspire them toward nation-building, and spread the message of pride and unity in society.
Billawaria reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party is a value- and ideology-driven organization, whose greatest strength lies in its dedicated workers. He urged all workers to operate in mission mode, maintaining discipline, devotion, and commitment while engaging with the public ahead of the upcoming elections. Criticizing former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Billawaria said that his government betrayed the very people who brought him to power.
He stressed that the time has come to strengthen governance at the grassroots level in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure greater citizen participation. He also underscored the need to conduct municipal and panchayat elections at the earliest to reinforce the democratic process and empower people’s voices once again. Addressing booth-level workers, Billawaria called upon them to take a pledge to transform every booth into a “Vijay Booth” (Booth of Victory). He urged them to ensure that BJP’s policies, welfare schemes, and development initiatives reach every household.
He encouraged party members to stay connected with the people, listen to their concerns, resolve their issues, and spread the party’s ideology to every section of society. During the meeting, senior office bearers from various regions presented reports on their organizational activities and shared valuable suggestions for the party’s future strategy.
