BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) to review the functioning of the One Stop Centre (OSC) at the Mini Secretariat, Bandipora. District Social Welfare Officer Bandipora presented a detailed report on the OSC’s performance, staff structure, and services being provided under Mission Shakti, including Sambal, Samarthya, Women’s Helpline, Nari Adalats, DHEW activities, BBBP, PMMVY, and creche facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the functioning of SAKHI services, including legal support, counselling, and shelter facilities, and discussed pending salary issues for both MOU and non-MOU periods. The DC directed that fresh police verification of all staff be completed prior to salary release and that eligibility criteria including age, be strictly examined. She instructed the department to submit complete details of cases handled during the one-year non-MOU period and said that case files will be thoroughly scrutinised during the next review. She emphasised the need for transparency and stressed that legal assistance must be provided immediately to affected persons.

The DC further directed the department to conduct a comprehensive physical verification of the OSC within two weeks, covering infrastructure, furnishings, fixtures, and overall functionality. She underscored that women should not suffer due to administrative inefficiency and called for strengthened coordination among all stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Ajaz Ahmad Zargar; District Programme Officer ICDS, Yaar Ali Khan; Secretary, District Legal Services Authority; Chairperson, District Bar Council; Chief Medical Officer Bandipora and other concerned officers.
