REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik   inaugurated three new crèche centres (PALNA) under the Poshan Project Reasi at Purana Dak Bunglow, Gadwal, and Saraswati Nagar today.  DPO (Poshan), Sudershan Kumar; CDPO, Suninderjeet Kour and local residents were also present at the inauguration.

This initiative marks a significant step towards ensuring care, protection and safety of children aged 6 months to 6 years of working mothers. The crèches will operate from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing dedicated daycare services during working hours.

Launched under the aegis of the Ministry of Women and Child development, the initiative aims to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for thechildren of working mothers — ensuring their holistic development through proper nutrition, early childhood care and education.

Speaking on the occasion, DC, Nidhi Malik highlighted government’s commitment to strengthening childcare and women’s welfare infrastructure at the grassroots level. She emphasized that the PALNA Centres will not only address the developmental needs of children but also empower working women by providing reliable and quality daycare facilities.

The DC also interacted with Anganwadi workers and local beneficiaries, inspecting the facilities and directing the concerned officers to ensure proper upkeep, hygiene and quality nutrition under the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP).
