SHOPIAN: In continuation of the district administration’s outreach and public grievance redressal initiatives, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta, today presided over the weekly Block Diwas programme at Keller Block to take firsthand appraisal of public issues and developmental needs. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of citizens who raised various demands and grievances of public importance.

During the proceedings, the DC listened to several public issues projected by the locals and directions were passed on the spot to the concerned departments for immediate action on various demands/grievances related to improvement of basic amenities, upgradation of roads, augmentation of drinking water supply, and strengthening of education infrastructure.
Speaking on occasion, the DC reiterated the commitment of the district administration towards ensuring time-bound redressal of public grievances and inclusive development of the district.
He said that the Block Diwas initiative serves as a vital platform for direct interaction between the government and the public, ensuring that public welfare and service delivery remain a priority while urging the public to voice their issues proactively for resolution.
