UDHAMPUR: A meeting of the District Development Council Udhampur was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Council Chairman Udhampur, Lal Chand to discuss and finalize the Area Development Plan District Capex and NABARD projects 2024- 25.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai, Vice Chairperson DDC Juhi Manhas Pathania, ADDC Rajinder Singh, District Development Council members, ADC Joginder Singh Jasrotia, CPO Mohd Iqbal, ACD Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, and other senior district officers from various departments attended the meeting.
All participating members of the District Development Council unanimously approved the Area Development Plan and NABARD projects, including roads and bridges, while setting priorities for other district projects.
The DDC Vice Chairman and members also addressed developmental issues in their respective areas, offering suggestions for further improvements in various departments. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner briefed the council on all components of the plan. Threadbare discussions were held on various aspects of the Area Development Plan, District Capex, NABARD, JJM and fix the priority of other works.
While addressing the meeting, Chairperson DDC Lal Chand complimented and appreciated the district administration for achieving 100% of the physical and financial targets set for 2023-24. He emphasized the need to start executing work at the earliest and complete it well before the end of the financial year, calling for the judicious use of funds. The Chairperson stressed the importance of officers working with added dedication and cooperation to ensure that all developmental works targeted for the current financial year are completed within the stipulated time.
During the meeting, after detailed discussions, the District Development Council Udhampur approved the construction of the Salmay bridge at an estimated cost of Rs.25 crore under NABARD for the final plan of this year. The plan also includes the Kaithgali to Narore road, construction of road in Panchayat Ladda A and B, and setting priorities for various district projects.
