JAMMU: Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu, Anil Gupta, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of claim settlements for Kharif 2025 season under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in Jammu Division.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director (SLUB/Farms) Aman Jyoti Sharma; Deputy Director (Central), Sanjeev Rai Gupta; SMS (Legal), Santosh Bhat; State Project Officer PMFBY Government of India, Sunil Lakhotra; State Representatives of Reliance General Insurance, Mahavir Singh Rawat and Vikram Jeet Singh, State Head Bajaj General Insurance Sonu Kashyap, I/c PMFBY Section (DoA&FW Jammu), Anirudh Bhat; along with senior officers and staff of the department.

The Director Agriculture assessed both localized and yield-based claims under PMFBY in Jammu Division and instructed to conduct the Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) by using the CCE Agri Mobile App to ensure accuracy and transparency. It was informed that the experiments have been completed in most districts. The Director instructed to expedite the process in districts where the process is still pending.

He emphasized the need for close coordination between insurance companies and the field functionaries of the Agriculture Department to ensure timely and transparent completion of CCEs. He assured the representatives of the insurance companies that the department would extend full cooperation in this process and informed that field functionaries have already been directed to complete the work in a time-bound manner.

Anil Gupta also reviewed the Mid-Season Adversity (MSA) cases and directed to extend the benefits promptly to the affected areas so that no farmer suffers undue hardship.
