DODA: A meeting of the District Development Council (DDC) Doda was held today in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex. The Council Chairman, Dhananter Singh Kotwal presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by DDC Vice Chairperson, Sangeeta Rani; DDC Councillors, ADDC, Roshan Lal; DPO, Akhtar Hussain Qazi; ACD, Din Mohd Afaqi; ACP Musharaf Haff; CPO, Manesh Kumar Manhas and district and sectoral officers from the government departments.
At the outset, the CPO presented a detailed Power Point presentation highlighting the sector-wise physical and financial progress of development works being executed across the district. The review covered key departments including PWD (R&B), Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Rural Development Department (RDD), Forest Department, Education Department, Youth Services and Sports and Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs. The Chairman and members discussed both feasible and infeasible works, ongoing renovation projects and the repairs of school buildings.
The DDC Chairman emphasized the importance of timely execution of projects and urged officers to ensure judicious utilization of available funds before the end of the financial year to prevent lapses. He further directed departments to accelerate the pace of work in areas where progress has been slow and to maintain close coordination with the PRIs for effective monitoring. Special focus was laid on improving road connectivity, installation of electric poles and transformers and enhancing the power supply ahead of the approaching winter season.
The DDC Councillors also raised various public issues and grievances related to road repair, school building renovation and the augmentation of essential services. The Chairman assured that all genuine concerns of the Councillors and PRIs will be given due consideration in upcoming development plans. He directed the concerned departments to ensure transparency, accountability and timely completion of all approved projects to meet public expectations and strengthen grassroots governance in District Doda.
