KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired the District Level Committee (DLC) meeting of Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) to finalize the selection process of beneficiaries under HADP pertaining to the Agriculture department. On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned officers to make concerted efforts in harnessing the Agriculture potential of district Kupwara which shall boost the rural economy.
She directed Area Extension Officers to mobilize the farmers by providing them thorough awareness about various schemes of the Agriculture sector which shall increase their livelihood opportunities. She emphasized upon the officers to make efforts for establishment of more honey villages like Gulgam and put emphasis on credit linked schemes. The DC stressed upon all district and sectoral officers of Agriculture and allied departments to speed up the completion of targets assigned to them under the HADP scheme in the district.
After thorough discussion, the Committee approved 860 cases of the applicants who had applied under various components of the HADP scheme. These include establishment of Nursery for Kashmiri Lal Mirchi, Diversification of Niche Crops (Kashmiri Lal Mirchi), Hi- tech Poly green Houses, Low cost Poly green Houses, Bee Colonies, Beekeeping equipment manufacturing, establishment of facilitation centres for migratory beekeepers, Millet Restaurant, Brush cutter, Battery operated Sprayer, Power Tiller, Maize Sheller, Tractor Mounted sprayer, mushroom sheds, improved crop sheds, vegetable seeds, vermi compost units, Spawn of Mushroom, Beehive with colonies, roof top rain water Harvesting structures, Deep Bore well, Low cost vermicompost units and other components. Chief Agriculture Officer Kupwara, LDM, CAO, besides other officers of line departments attended the meeting.
