KISHTWAR: District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar today organized Training Program for LADCs, Panel Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers under the supervision of Learned Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar, Manjeet Singh Manhas regarding the effective implementation of the Legal Services Programmes and seminars to educate individuals about the concept of legal aid and the services provided by Legal Aid Defense Counsels, Panel Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers.
That the program was presided by Learned Principal District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman of District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar, Manjeet Singh Manhas in the presence of Naveed Khurshid (Dy. Chief LADC); Sanveer Singh (Assistant LADC) Kishtwar; Panel lawyers; PLVs; and other staff members at Confrerence Hall, District Court Complex Kishtwar.
Under the astute supervision of Chairman DLSA Kishtwar this training program for Legal Aid Defense Counsels (LADCs), panel lawyers, and para-legal volunteers with an aim to ensure that every individual, regardless of their socio-economic status, has access to legal assistance and representation. That Legal aid is a cornerstone of a just society which ensures that the right to legal representation is not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it, but a fundamental right available to all.
The concept of legal aid encompasses more than just providing a lawyer to those in need; it includes educating the public about their legal rights, guiding them through legal processes, and ensuring that they receive fair treatment within the judicial system.
Training program is designed to equip the LADCs, panel lawyers, and para-legal volunteers with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve the community effectively and delve into various aspects of legal aid, from understanding the legal framework to practical skills in client counselling and case management. The goal of program is to empower to make a real difference in the lives of those who seek help especially those which belongs from weaker section, marginalized people and down trodden areas as provided in Section 12 of Legal Services Authority Act.
Additionally, the Learned Principal District & Sessions Judge cum Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar listened patiently to the grievances faced by the participants in delivering the legal services in their area who expressed their problems and hindrance which they faced and they were assured that all their grievances would be addressed.
As the work of the LADCs/Panel Lawyers/PLVs has a profound impact on the lives of many so committing themselves to the principles of justice and equality not only fulfilling the professional duties, but also contributing to the creation of a more fair and just society, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere so the basic objective of the training is to work together and to ensure that justice is accessible to everyone, everywhere.
