SRINAGAR: The Grand Enrollment Campaign for the academic session 2025-2026 continued with unprecedented energy and community participation across Srinagar district. In a landmark event today, a Mega Enrollment Drive was organized at Zone Gulabbagh, marking a significant step towards achieving 100% enrollment in government schools.

The programme was graced by Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, Chief Education Officer, Srinagar, Ms. Anjum Raja, District Education Planning Officer, Srinagar, and Ms. Oscia Jabeen, Principal BHSS Gulabbagh with additional charge of Zonal Education Officer, Gulabbagh. The event saw enthusiastic participation from parents, children, teachers, and community members, reflecting a collective commitment to education.

In a heartening development, 71 new students, including one Child with Special Needs (CwSN), were enrolled on the spot by the Chief Education Officer himself, demonstrating the administration’s resolve to leave no child behind. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, Chief Education Officer, Srinagar, congratulated parents for choosing government schools and reiterated the department’s unwavering commitment to delivering world-class education.

He extended a warm welcome to the newly enrolled children into the fold of school education and specially appreciated the tireless efforts of Ms. Oscia Jabeen, Principal BHSS Gulabbagh/ZEO Gulabbagh, for her pivotal role in the educational transformation of the zone. “I am confident that with such committed leadership and teaching staff, not a single child in Srinagar will remain out of school,” the CEO added.

Ms. Anjum Raja, District Education Planning Officer, emphasized the emotional significance of a child’s first day at school and urged parents to stay actively involved. “Teachers are the third pillar of the education system after parents and children. Regular interaction between parents and teachers is essential for holistic development,” she stated. We're working tirelessly to provide quality education, infrastructure, resources and we need your continuous involvement in the educatinal journey of your ward.

Ms. Oscia Jabeen expressed profound gratitude to the Chief Education Officer and DEPO Srinagar for their presence and continuous guidance. She extended heartfelt thanks to the entire teaching fraternity of Gulabbagh Zone for their proactive outreach and awareness campaigns that highlighted various facilities and schemes available in government schools. She stressed that we will treat every child – whether he comes from a big house or a small hut, whether he learns slowly or runs ahead – with the same love, the same respect, and the same opportunity.

Mr Mohammad Ashraf,Teacher Middle School Doji Mohalla recited the holy verses of Quran. The cultural segment added vibrancy to the event. Mr. Mohd Ayub , Teacher, Middle School Bagi Mohalla, presented an inspiring song composed specially for the enrollment drive, while students of Government Boys’ High School, Habak Homehair, staged a powerful skit on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat”. All participants, including students and community members, took a solemn pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, reinforcing the government’s commitment to a drug-free society. The programme was deftly coordinated by Ms. Nazrana (BHSS Gulabbagh) and Ms. Farhana Amin Nawchoo (Government Girls Middle School).
