• S. Manjit Singh recalls the sacrifices & contribution of Jatts in J&K

R. S. PURA: J&K Jatt Sabha President, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today demanded benefits of Other Backward Class (OBC) status to the Jatt Community Youth in Central Govt Jobs across the country.  Hailing the inclusion of the Jatts and extending them OBC status benefits in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jatt Sabha held a threadbare discussion in R. S. Pura in a meeting.

The meeting was chaired by S. Manjit Singh, as President of the Sabha, and Former Member Parliament, Sdr. Tarlok Singh Bajwa, Ex-Minister & Senior Vice President of Sabha, Choudhary Sukhnandan, Former Minister Garu Choudhary, MLA Vikram Randhawa, DDC Suchetgarh Taranjeet Singh Tony, Ex-Corporator Choudhary Dwarka, Partap Choudhary, Manjit Jatt, Kamal Randhawa, Choudhary Jagar Singh, Choudhary Jeet, DDC Choudhary Geetu Kumari, Sushma Choudhary, and many others.

During the hours-long discussion, and deliberation, the Jatt Sabha members came to the conclusion that the J&K level jobs in the Govt sector for the Jatts, who have now been given the benefits of OBC, will not be much beneficial because of lack of adequate opportunities. "We have very few opportunities for the unemployed and educated youth in J&K. The Central Govt shall acknowledge the contribution, and sacrifices made by the Jatts, who largely live along the International Border (IB), and Line of Control (LoC)," said Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh, who chaired the meeting along with other leaders of the Sabha.

He informed that the meeting resolved that the Central Govt shall look into the ground realities and work for the benefits of the marginalized section of society that faced neglect for seven decades. "The facts shall be considered by extending OBC status benefits to the J&K Jatts in central Govt jobs across the country so that the nationalist youth shall get the employment, and work in the nation building at the right direction," said S. Manjit Singh, Former Minister.

Meanwhile, Former MP, Sdr. Tarlok Singh Bajwa also addressed the meeting highlighting the concern of the community, while making a point that the Sabha delegation shall meet the Central Minister to ensure that the Jatt youth shall get the justice. Former Minister, Choudhary Sukhnandan, Former Minister Choudhary Garu Ram, MLA Vikram Randhawa, DDC Taranjeet Singh Tony also addressed the meeting.
