GANDERBAL: In line with the ongoing efforts to curb illegal activities and ensure transparency in the sale and purchase of pre-owned vehicles, Police in Ganderbal conducted a district-wide checking drive at various old vehicle sale–purchase units.
Special teams from different police stations and units were deputed to inspect documentation, verify ownership records, and scrutinize the maintenance of transaction registers at these establishments. The drive focused on detecting any irregularities, misuse of vehicles, or transactions lacking proper verification, which could potentially be exploited for unlawful activities.
During the inspection, police officers sensitized the owners and staff of these units about the mandatory maintenance of proper sale-purchase records, verification of customer credentials, and strict adherence to legal procedures.
They were also advised to immediately report any suspicious activity or doubtful transactions to the nearest police station. J&K Police remains committed to strengthening public safety and maintaining strict vigil against any activities that can threaten peace and security in the region.
