DODA: Special Secretary, Labour & Employment Department Pawan Parihar, during an official visit to District Doda today, reviewed the implementation and progress of Mission YUVA in the District۔ the flagship initiative aims at promoting self-employment in the Union Territory.

The Special Secretary chaired a review meeting attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Roshan Lal, the Nodal Officer for Mission YUVA along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, Sunil Bhutyal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ashraf Pervaz, SDMs of Assar, Gandoh and Thathri and other concerned district officials.

The meeting focused on assessing the district’s performance, target achievements and overall progress under different components of the Mission۔ He inquired about the establishment of new business units, loan disbursement and employment generation achieved under the Mission.

The District Employment & Counselling Centre (DECC) Officials presented a detailed report stating that 2,595 applications have so far been received under Mission YUVA, out of which 1,493 have been approved by the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) and forwarded to banks. Of these, 424 applications were sanctioned and 248   disbursed.

The Special Secretary emphasized the importance of generating public awareness, timely disposal of applications and close inter-departmental coordination to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach maximum number of unemployed youth. The visit concluded with a call for collective efforts to make District Doda a model of youth empowerment and employment generation under Mission YUVA.
