JAMMU: To commemorate 150 years of “Vande Mataram”, a special event was organized at the historic Mangal Devi Fort, an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) protected monument in Block Seri.
The celebration was held in collaboration with PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School Seri and under the guidance of Block Development Officer Hemant Vaid. The program aimed to honor the legacy of India’s national song, which continues to inspire unity, patriotism and pride among citizens.
The event featured patriotic renditions, cultural presentations, and addresses highlighting the historical significance of “Vande Mataram” and the contribution of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay to India’s national consciousness. The venue — the ancient Mangal Devi Fort — added cultural and historical depth to the commemoration.
Speaking on the occasion, Hemant Vaid emphasized the importance of preserving both India’s cultural heritage and patriotic spirit, noting that events like these connect the younger generation with the nation’s glorious past.
