KISHTWAR: To mark the launch of Seva Parv-2025, cleanliness activities were today organized across all departments in Kishtwar District. The main event was held at the historic Chowgan Ground, where MLA Kishtwar, Shagun Parihar and Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma led a Mega Swachhta Drive. The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior officers, government employees, sanitation workers, and local citizens, reflecting a strong sense of unity and commitment towards building a clean and green environment.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA urged people to preserve the heritage and sanctity of Chowgan Ground by refraining from littering and maintaining cleanliness. The DC also appealed to citizens to keep their surroundings clean and contribute towards making Kishtwar a plastic-free district. As part of the campaign, the Swachhta Pledge was administered at all locations across the district, encouraging citizens to keep their surroundings clean, protect the environment and act responsibly.
Similar Cleanliness drives were also conducted at Sub-Division, Tehsil and Block levels by departments including Municipality, Health, RDD, ICDS, Forest, Education, Higher Education, ITI, Social Welfare, and Agriculture. Activities such as IYCF counselling sessions for pregnant women and lactating mothers, along with recipe competitions for nutritious complementary foods, were also held at all Anganwadi Centres to mark the launch of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 by the Prime Minister of India on the theme “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan.”
