JAMMU: The Department of International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, successfully conducted a 3-Day workshop on “New Age Employability Skills for Gen Z” from November 19–21, 2025, as part of the MBA (IB) curriculum for Semester I and III students. The workshop aimed to equip students with essential skills to thrive in today’s competitive corporate environment.

Mr. Manjot K S Gill, Chief Mentor and CEO of Mindone Consultants, and visiting faculty at IIM Jammu and Sirmaur, was the resource person for the workshop. The workshop offered a comprehensive learning experience, covering a wide range of essential skills for today’s corporate environment. Participants explored emotional intelligence and resilience, enhancing self-awareness, empathy, and adaptability to effectively manage professional and personal challenges.

They also focused on professional communication and networking skills, learning techniques to improve interpersonal interactions, presentations, and relationship-building. The workshop introduced Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and rapport-building skills, equipping students with practical strategies to foster trust and strong connections in professional settings.

Additionally, students received hands-on training in employability skills, including CV creation, group discussions, and interview techniques, preparing them for corporate recruitment processes. The sessions further included LinkedIn orientation and digital visibility, guiding participants on creating impactful profiles, posting engaging content, building traction, and leveraging social media to enhance professional opportunities. The workshop was highly interactive, with students participating in role-plays, group activities, and mock interviews, helping them apply the learnings in practical scenarios.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Hardeep Chahal, Director, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu said, “This workshop provided our students with a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional readiness. The skills gained here will help them confidently navigate the corporate world and maximize their career potential.”
