JAMMU: One week online National workshop on Quantitative and Quantitative Data Analysed, organized by the P. G.Department of Commerce (SAP-DRS-III), University of Jammu concluded today after a highly enriching academic week. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and research scholars across the country, offering a comprehensive blend of methodological training, conceptual clarity, and hands-on data analysis.

The inaugural day focused on Systematic Literature Review (SLR), led by Prof. Jaspreet Kaur from the Delhi School of Business. Participants were oriented to the entire SLR process, including formulation of research questions, search strategies, inclusion–exclusion criteria, PRISMA guidelines, and synthesising empirical evidence. The interactive discussions helped participants understand the methodological rigour required for high-quality reviews.

The successive session, centered on Case Study Writing, conducted by Prof. Rajesh Verma from Lovely Professional University. The session explained the characteristics of effective case studies and trained participants in narrative structuring, protagonist development, problem framing, and ethical considerations. Real-world examples and discussions enabled participants to grasp the role of case writing in research and teaching. Further, the participants were introduced to Sentiment Analysis, facilitated by Prof. Umesh Arya.

The session covered conceptual foundations, key variable identification, model behaviour interpretation, and tool-based analysis. Practical demonstrations using Python and Orange enabled participants to execute sentiment functions, prepare data, and analyse outputs effectively. The next session led by Dr. Atul Shiva, focused on Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (EFA & CFA). Using SPSS demonstrations, participants learned factor extraction, rotation, eigenvalues, model specification, fit indices, and construct validity assessment.

The session strengthened participants’ understanding of measurement modelling. Participants were also were also datasets to work with SMART PLS. The concluding day covered with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) under Dr. Sandeep Singh, Punjabi University, Patiala who explained mediation, moderation, model reliability, validity, and path diagrams with hands-on demonstrations.

The final session by Prof. Jyoti Sharma, SMVDU, Katra addressed Quality Research Publications, highlighting ethical practices, publication standards, journal selection, and strategies for producing impactful research. Overall, the workshop successfully combined theory, practical training, and expert guidance, significantly enhancing participants’ research capabilities. The week-long programme was attended by 48 participants from different universities across the country concluded with active discussions, clarifications, and appreciation for the department’s efforts in organising such a meaningful academic initiative.
