KULGAM: The three days training programme on preparation of ‘Nutri-Mix formula for lactating and pregnant women’ concluded at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kulgam. 30 Women from across district Kulgam covering 08 blocks were imparted the said training programme that was sponsored by JK-NRLM in collaboration with Directorate of Extension, SKUAST Kashmir.

At KVK Kulgam, eight theoretical lectures and 08 practical classes were taken by the scientists of Kendra during the training in which trainees were provided with technological know how about preparation of different Nutri-Mix dishes and the importance of these Nutri-Mix dishes for health care and wellbeing of lactating and pregnant women. The dishes prepared at Kendra include chickpea bars, an affordable and nutrient-rich snack for lactating and pregnant women, preparation of various nutrient-dense food items such as vegetable premixes, pulse premixes, and edible seed mixes.

District Programme Manager JK NRLM expressed gratitude to the scientists of Kendra for providing the training, and also assured the trainees that in future also such training will be held at the Kendra. Certificates were distributed among the trainees for successfully completing the three days training programme.
