- WE are thankful to Dogra Rulers for making it official language: Zakir Malik
RAJOURI: Tehreek Baqa-e-Urdu has refreshed its campaign for installing sign boards in official language of J&K and the campaign was launched from Post Graduate College of Rajouri. The campaign was launched under the chairmanship of Zakir Malik Bhallesi, Central General Secretary and Spokesman while PG College President of TBU, Ilyas Choudhary was also present to approach Principal Prof JA Qazi, Vice Principal & HoD Urdu Department Prof MK Waqar and Prof Mohammad Iqbal Raina.
Speaking to Principal and others concerned, Zakir Malik Bhallesi requested them to respect General Administration Circular No 10 of 2007 in which all departments were directed to install sign boards in Urdu language. He said that TBU is not against English or Hindi and they support every move to promote these languages also but main concern is that official language of J&K is not getting due share. He said the language is official only in papers and not in use. Malik also thanked Dogra ruler Maharaj Partap Singh for making Urdu as official language of J&K.
Meanwhile College President of TBU Ilyas Choudhary raised the issue of shortage of Urdu teachers in Urdu Department of the College and said that this department is only department of any College of Jammu with highest number of Urdu students enrolled . He demanded atleast 6 Urdu teachers. After giving patient hearing, Principal Prof JA Qazi termed it a very good initiative of TBU and appreciated the NGO for working for official language of the state. He said that within a month time, they will install Urdu sign boards in every department of the College and will also approach higher ups for sanctioning of more Urdu posts for PG College’s Urdu department.
