UDHAMPUR: In a major crackdown on narco-criminals, the District Administration Udhampur, in close coordination with District Police today demolished illegally raised properties worth crores belonging to notorious drug peddler Makhan Din, son of Hakim Din, resident of Narsoo, Tehsil Chenani.

A joint team of the Revenue Department and Police carried out the demolition drive, targeting structures allegedly constructed on government land. The action comes as part of the district’s intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking and dismantle the financial networks of habitual offenders.

Makhan Din, a habitual offender, has been found involved in FIR No. 188/2024 registered at Police Station Rehambal. Owing to his persistent involvement in drug trafficking, he was also detained under the PIT NDPS Act and is currently lodged at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.

During the investigation, the Investigating Officer established that the accused had illegally encroached upon state land and constructed five commercial properties and one residential property worth crores along NH-44 at Narsoo, Chenani. These structures, raised through proceeds of the narco trade, were demolished as part of the ongoing district-wide campaign against drug peddlers.
