REASI: Additional District Development Commissioner, Sukhdev Singh Samyal today chaired a review meeting to assess the performance of the Food Safety Department, Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) and the Soil & Water Conservation Department. The ADDC conducted a detailed assessment of ongoing works, expenditure status, and achievements under the developmental schemes. He stressed the need for timely completion of works and directed officers to accelerate the execution pace to meet stipulated deadlines.
While reviewing the working of the Food Safety Department, the ADDC instructed the officers to carry out inspection of markets at regular intervals to check the quality of food items. He emphasised the need to register all Rehri vendors to prepare a detailed report on the number of registrations completed across the district. He also directed the officers to convene a meeting with the Hotel Association to strengthen food safety measures.
Reviewing the activities of IWMP, the ADDC inquired about the status of ongoing works and urged officers to speed up execution for timely completion. It was informed that 23,000 saplings were planted in Tote, Devigarh Panchayat under the head production system. The ADDC instructed that plant distribution to households must be documented with GeoTag photographs. It was further informed that for the year 2025â26, a total of 51 works have been approved, out of which 30 are in progress and 8 have been completed.
Assessing the financial and developmental progress of the Soil & Water Conservation Department, the ADDC was apprised that new works costing âč22.688 lakh have been initiated under the 2025â26 plan. The ADDC directed the concerned officers to submit GeoTag photographs of all works executed during the 2024â25 financial year, along with before-and-after photographs for proper documentation. He further instructed the department to expedite the remaining works to ensure timely completion. ADC Rakesh Kumar, CPO Narinder Kumar, ACD Vijay Kumar and the officers of the concerned department were present in the meeting.
