REASI: Additional District Development Commissioner Reasi, Sukhdev Singh Samyal, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of Smart Meter installation in the district. During the meeting, the ADDC conducted a detailed assessment of the ongoing installation work and emphasized the need to expedite the process to achieve 100% coverage at the earliest. It was informed that 13,995 Smart Meters have been installed so far.
He directed the monitoring and implementing agencies to maintain transparency, accuracy and adherence to timelines in the installation process. He asked them to speed up the installation in Reasi, Katra, Pouni, and submit daily progress reports. He also emphasized the timely completion of Smart Meter installation in all government buildings.
Highlighting the importance of the project, the ADDC said that the Smart Meter initiative will significantly improve energy efficiency, streamline billing mechanisms and enhance consumer convenience. He called for proactive coordination between field staff and the Power Development Department to promptly address public grievances and ensure smooth execution of the ongoing work. CPO Narinder Kumar, XEN and staff of the JPDCL department were present in the meeting.
