DODA: To mark the National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas), the District Administration Doda, under the directions of the UT Administration, today organized a pledge-taking ceremony at DC Office Complex.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh administered the Unity Pledge to officers and officials present, reaffirming the collective commitment towards national unity, integrity and security.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India. This year holds special significance as the nation marks the 150th birth anniversary of the architect of India’s unity and the first Deputy Prime Minister of the country.
The observance highlighted the invaluable contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in unifying the nation and underlined the importance of safeguarding the spirit of unity and diversity which forms the backbone of India’s strength.
