SAMBA: In a powerful demonstration of national solidarity and patriotic fervor, the District Administration Samba today organized a magnificent ‘Run for Unity’ to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, whose extraordinary statesmanship and unshakeable resolve transformed a fragmented subcontinent into a unified nation. Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan flagged off the event from the District Administrative Complex Nandani Hills, as hundreds of participants embodying the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ marched to Gujjar Hostel, symbolizing the nation’s stride towards greater unity and prosperity.
The atmosphere resonated with patriotic zeal as all participants, standing in unison, took the Unity Pledge, solemnly reaffirming their sacred commitment to preserving India’s territorial integrity, promoting communal harmony and strengthening the bonds of national integration that Sardar Patel fought tirelessly to forge.
The event witnessed participation from enthusiastic students, senior government functionaries including Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ajay Bharti; Chief Education Officer Keval Krishan, teachers and officials from other departments, all united in their tribute to the architect of modern India.
