KATHUA: To mark the Commemoration of 150 Years of National Pride – Vande Mataram, a meeting of concerned departments was today convened under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Surinder Mohan Sharma.

The objective of the meeting was to chalk-out a detailed action plan for organizing awareness activities and outreach programmes across the district in connection with the commemoration campaign.

At the outset, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Vishavjeet Singh, briefed the participants about the objectives of the campaign and highlighted its significance in rekindling patriotic spirit among citizens, especially the younger generation. He informed that the initiative envisages a series of activities to celebrate the timeless message of unity and national pride embodied in the National Song “Vande Mataram.”

The ADDC, while addressing the meeting, called upon all stakeholder departments including Education, Rural Development, Health, ICDS and Information to actively disseminate information regarding the campaign and ensure the involvement of students, youth and community members at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to make the campaign impactful and participatory.

The ADDC further directed the departments to organize cultural programmes, debates, essay competitions and awareness drives reflecting the essence of Vande Mataram and India’s journey of unity and freedom. ASP Kathua Rahul Charak, ACD Kathua Akhil Sadotra, officers of concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
