KULGAM: The District Administration Kulgam today joined the nationwide commemoration of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ by organizing a Mega Singing Event at the Mini Secretariat, Kulgam, and other locations across the district.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, students, officials, and citizens, who came together to sing the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, celebrating the spirit of unity, patriotism, and national pride.
As part of the celebration, live streaming of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s address was facilitated by the District Administration, enabling participants to virtually join the nationwide commemoration.
Following the event, a plantation drive was carried out in the premises of the Mini Secretariat, led by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan. ADDC Kulgam, Altaf Ahmad; ADC, Viqar Ahmed, ACD, ACR, along with locals and students, also participated in the plantation drive. The commemorative functions were also held at sub divisional and Tehsil levels during the inaugural day of the campaign.
