- Historic labour reforms empower workers, strengthen Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Sat Sharma
JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) chaired a meeting of senior party leaders at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, where he also highlighted the historic Labour Reforms introduced by the Modi government, describing them as a landmark decision to further strengthen India’s inclusive growth story.
Sat Sharma described the latest labour reforms as a “transformational step towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” ensuring minimum and timely wages, equal opportunities and pay for women, social security, health benefits, and enhanced protection for workers in hazardous sectors. “Successive governments left workers to fend for themselves in times of crisis. Modi ji has ensured legal protections, financial security and health safeguards, especially for the most vulnerable,” Sharma said.
J&K BJP Vice-President Rakesh Mahajan, General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan, Secretary Arun Sharma, Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Spokespersons Rajni Sethi and Adv. Parimoksh Seth, Dinesh Sharma, Ishant Mahajan, Kunti Jasrotia and others were present in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma asserted that the Modi government has achieved in a decade what Congress at the Centre and the NC–PDP governments in J&K intentionally blocked for seventy years. He said these parties treated Jammu & Kashmir as their private political property, looted resources, halted development, and pushed the region into decades of instability, separatism, terrorism, stone-pelting and bloodshed.
“NC, PDP and Congress worked only for their families. Modi ji has worked for the poor, the marginalized and the neglected. The abrogation of the controversial Article 370 marked a major milestone that restored justice and equality in J&K, while also restoring confidence among its residents,” said Sat Sharma.
Reviewing organizational activities, Sat Sharma appreciated the ongoing programmes under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. He reiterated that the BJP remains committed to strengthening its grassroots network and ensuring the delivery of every welfare scheme to the last citizen, reaffirming its mission to build a peaceful, progressive and empowered Jammu & Kashmir.
Earlier, General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan briefed Sat Sharma about the progress of district-level meetings, outreach drives and awareness programmes being conducted as part of the party’s flagship initiatives inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
