DODA: District Administration Doda in collaboration with Shaheen Educational Trust, organised a grand event at Sports Stadium Doda to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) and commemorate the Birth Anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and SSP Sandeep Mehta. The event witnessed a glittering display of Tiranga by liting 3,000 lamps symbolising unity, peace and national integrity.
The lamps, illuminated by SSP, ADC Doda, ACD Doda, Officers of 10 RR, senior government functionaries and representatives from the Chamber of Commerce & Industries Doda, marked the grand celebration of national unity. Students from Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School and other institutions, besides PariShaw learners enthusiastically participated in the celebrations.
The DC and SSP highlighted Sardar Patel’s tremendous contribution in uniting India and called upon students and citizens to remain committed to nation-building, unity and social harmony. They encouraged youth to contribute actively to society and work collectively towards making India a developed nation.
Chairman of Shaheen Educational Trust and Managing Director of Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School Hafizullah Khurwani expressed gratitude to the District Administration, participating schools, volunteers and the public. He emphasised the pivotal role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in unifying the nation, reiterating the message of unity, patriotism and collective responsibility in strengthening India.
This unique celebration marks the first-ever event in Jammu & Kashmir by a private Educational Institution from Doda to light thousands of lamps in honour of National Unity Day.
