RAMBAN: Continuing the weeklong celebrations to mark 150 glorious years of India’s National Song “Vande Mataram,” the District Administration Ramban, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Alyas Khan, organized a series of vibrant and patriotic activities across schools and colleges in the district.
The district administration has encouraged all citizens, students, and officials to participate in the national celebration by recording and uploading videos of themselves singing the National Song on the official portal. Participation certificates will be automatically generated from the portal upon verification. Participants are required to sing at least one stanza or the full song live, ensuring that their faces are visible and the audio is clear for successful validation and certification.
At Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban, a range of activities were organised by the NCC, NSS, and Bharat Scouts and Guides units to commemorate the historic occasion. The events were held under the guidance of the College Principal Prof. Satish Kumar and coordinated by Nodal Officer Vande Mataram Celebrations Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Mir. The celebrations included group singing, cultural performances, and awareness sessions highlighting the origin, meaning and significance of “Vande Mataram.”
Similarly, several schools and colleges across the district held programs themed around patriotism and the legacy of the National Song. At MHSS Ramban, students participated in essay writing and speech competitions on the history and importance of “Vande Mataram.” Enthusiastic performances were also witnessed at Primary School Upper Jaman, UPS Sharore, where a debate on Vande Mataram was organized, and UPS Gagarsulla, where students presented a soulful rendition of the song. The celebrations also continued at GDC Ukhral, where students and faculty joined the nationwide tribute with fervent participation, reflecting the unifying spirit of “Vande Mataram”.
