HANDWARA: Continuing its firm stance against drug cultivation and to eradicate the menace from its roots, Police in Handwara carried out a bung destruction drive in Wahipora village.
The drive was conducted in close coordination with the local Nambardar, Chowkidar and residents of the area, showcasing strong community support and cooperation in the fight against drugs. During the operation, a large patch of illegally cultivated bung was destroyed on the spot.
J&K Police appreciates the proactive role of the locals in reporting and assisting in the destruction of such illicit crops. The general public is once again urged to remain vigilant and report any such activities in their areas to the nearest police station. Strict action under law shall be taken against individuals found involved in drug cultivation or trade.
