SOPORE, HANDWARA: As part of the nationwide Seva Parv initiative, Police have organized plantation drive, cleanliness drives and administered the Swachhta Pledge in Sopore and Handwara Police districts.
In Sopore, the main programme was held at District Police Lines Sopore where senior officers, along with police personnel, took the pledge reaffirming their commitment to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and a sustainable environment in line with the vision of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Following the pledge, extensive cleanliness drives were carried out in DPL Sopore, DPO Sopore, all Police Stations, and Police Posts of the district. Officers and personnel participated with great enthusiasm, cleaning premises, surroundings, and public-facing areas, thereby sending a strong message of responsibility and civic duty.
Meanwhile in Handwara, Police organised a large-scale plantation drive across various police establishments. A significant number of saplings were planted in and around police premises, with officers, jawans, and staff actively participating in the drive. Speaking on the occasion, police officers underlined the importance of tree plantation as a long-term investment for ecological balance, cleaner air, and a healthier environment.
They also encouraged the local community to adopt similar practices at their homes, schools, and neighbourhoods to strengthen the collective mission of environmental protection. The initiatives reflect J&K Policeâs commitment to not only ensuring law and order but also actively contributing to community welfare and nation-building.
