KATHUA: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu along with Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today launched Project Sahayeta, planned and executed by district administration Kathua. The project is first of its kind in the State that provides for video-conference connectivity in various Government Offices including SDMs, Tehsildars, BDOs, etc. having greater public dealing. Project has been launched by district e-governance society through NIC.
The facility will be utilized for official meetings between district and sub-divisional, tehsil and block level administrative units thereby saving time spent by officers in travelling to headquarters. It will also provide a platform for weekly interaction with public deputations in far flung areas of Bani, Basohli, Billawar, Duggan and Lohai Malhar from where they can have a direct interaction with Deputy Commissioner and other district officers.
The project has also a component of tele-medicine to be offered to the public in remote areas and specialist doctors from Kathua, Jammu and other places providing medical assistance to them. A weekly youth leadership programme through video-conference for students of remote areas has also been launched under the project wherein students can interact with career specialists, officers, teachers and guides on regular basis.
Divisional Commissioner interacted with SDMs, Tehsildars and BDOs through video-conference and congratulated district administration for the initiative. He also reviewed the status of new administrative units and essential services through the facility. Divisional commissioner also distributed tablet PCs among Tehsildars and BDOs on the occasion. The facility has been provided in the offices of SDM Bani, SDM Basohli, SDM Billawar, SDM Hiranagar; Tehsildars Billawar, Lohai-Malhar, Bani, Machhedi, Mahanpur, Nagri-Parole, Dinga-Amb, Marheen, Kathua, BDOs Duggan, Bani, Baggan, Barnoti, Billawar, Mahanpur, Basohli, CEO LSDA besides others. SSP Kathua Neeva Jain, ADDC N S Bali, IAS probationer Anshul Garg, CPO Ram Rattan, ACR Atul Gupta, ACD Tilak Raj besides other officers were also present on the occasion.
KISHTWAR: Two major road projects worth Rs 91.30 crore have been finalized for district Kishtwar. Giving the details of these projects, the District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan said that the DPRs of the two vital projects were finalized in a record time of one week. These include widening and metalling of road stretch from Varda Bridge to Malipeth Kishtwar amounting to Rs. 51.89 crores and the widening of Main road of Kishtwar costing Rs 39.41 crores.
He further informed that the widening project of main road will also include two deep drains and two service lanes on both sides of the road. However, the general public has been advised to avoid travelling in late hours as heavy snow and rains are triggering landslides and shooting stones on the road. The district administration Kishtwar and R&B authorities are constantly monitoring the road condition and required precautionary measures are being taken.
RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner, Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari today flagged off a delegation of Integrated Watershed Committee (IWC) members from IWMP Project Ramban for a five day field visit to Punjab. Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner Babu Ram, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Arvind Karwani, DFO Ramban Vijay Kumar, DPO Gul Hassan Kraipak and Deputy Registrar Co-operative, Vikar Giri were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, District Development Commissioner asked the delegation to make maximum use of this exposure visit and equip themselves with knowledge about the latest techniques in farm technology and livestock rearing in Punjab. The delegation of IWC shall visit Patahankot, Hoshiarpur, Mohali and other parts of Punjab and interact with IWMP members and other stake holders.
REASI: The NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Reasi today organized an awareness programme in the college campus to aware NSS volunteers about Swine Flu (H1N1 VIRUS) during ongoing NSS annual camp 2015. On the occasion, Dr. Rakesh Raina (Senior Physician) from District Hospital, Reasi gave a detailed presentation regarding symptoms, causes and diagnosis of the disease. He informed that Swine Flu is not a deadly disease but it is important to take all the necessary preventive measures.
He said that the people of certain age groups like children under five years and people over 65 years are more prone to the infection. He gave a detailed note on vaccination and treatment for the disease. Staff members of the college besides others were also present on the occasion.
