JAMMU: A massive protest demonstration was held under the leadership of Sh. Abdul Qayoom Wani State Chairman and Sh. Ganesh Khajuria state General Secretary of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum in front of the office of the Director School Education Jammu, today in which hundreds of aggrieved masters of district Jammu participated to show the anguish and resentment against the dictatorial order of adjustment of surplus master issued by DSE Jammu.
Mr. Kavinder Gupta M.L.A Gandhi Nagar also addressed the gathering and assured full support to the protesting masters and termed the adjustment orders were made in haste and hoped the issue will be resolved within days. While addressing the gathering Mr. Abdul Qayoom Wani strongly warned the education authorities to desist from suppressing the legitimate voice of the teaching community who are fighting for their rights. He appealed to chief secretary and secretary Education to intervene personally and resolve the issue in favour of masters who have been made surplus by the ill deeds of the previous government.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ganesh Khajuria strongly condemned the attitude of the DSEJ who had deployed a strong contingent of police force to crush the democratic rights of the teaching community which had planned a chain hunger strike from today in DSEJ office against the violation of all the transfer norms, adopting pick and choose policy and favoritism in the adjustment of masters.
The forum appeals to the higher authorities to intervene and adjust the surplus masters in suitable places otherwise the forum will be compelled to come on streets for the redressal of their legitimate demands. Prominent who addressed the gathering included Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Jamat Ali Agha, Raj Singh, Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, S. Ravinder Singh, Rajesh Slathia, Fozia, Monika Sharma, Kamini Kumari, Shankar Singh.
