BANDIPORA: Awareness and outreach activities under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan continued across Bandipora district on Wednesday with life skills sessions, anti-drug awareness programmes, pledge ceremonies, yoga sessions and motivational lectures organised at various educational institutions.
Educational institutions including HSS Gadakhud, PM SHRI HSS Shadipora, HSS Sumbal, HSS PTL Gurez, HSS Quilmuqam, H/S Ketson, GHS Nadihal, GHS Naidkhai, GHS Hajin, High School Panar and PM SHRI GHS Odina organised activities focusing on life skills, decision making, peer pressure management and awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Students participated in interactive sessions, discussions, role-playing activities, awareness lectures and pledge ceremonies aimed at encouraging responsible decision making, positive thinking and healthy lifestyles. Speakers highlighted the importance of life skills in helping students avoid drug abuse and other harmful influences.
Meanwhile, awareness-cum-yoga sessions were organised at Munawar Memorial Secondary School Quil and Govt Boys Middle School Kaloosa in collaboration with the Ayush Department. The sessions focused on mental health, stress management, coping skills and the role of yoga, meditation and physical activity in combating addiction. IEC material was also distributed among participants. The programmes witnessed active participation of students, teachers and members of the community across the district.
