KISHTWAR: Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma and under the supervision of Additional District Development Commissioner (Nodal Officer), Kishtwar, Vinod Kumar Behnal, the 07-day Mega “Jan Bhagidaari Sabse Door–Sabse Pehle” IEC Campaign was formally launched in the district, starting from Panchayat Tipri, Block Bunjwah.

The 07-day campaign will continue till 25th May 2026 at various venues, along with activities as per the schedule notified by the District Administration Kishtwar. The initiative kicked off with a grand Awareness & Benefit Saturation Camp along with several welfare-oriented activities for the tribal community, setting the tone for a comprehensive outreach programme aimed at ensuring inclusive growth and empowerment of tribal communities residing in remote areas.

During the camp, on-the-spot services and registrations under Financial Inclusion Schemes were facilitated including PMJJBY applications with 10 on-the-spot registrations, PMSBY applications with 08 on-the-spot registrations, and a total of 10 Aadhaar seeding consent forms collected. Awareness regarding Government Welfare Schemes and Financial Inclusion Schemes was also imparted during the programme.

The initiative reflects the Government’s unwavering commitment towards inclusive development and upliftment of tribal populations through doorstep delivery of services and real-time grievance redressal. The awareness camp, led by BDO Bunjwah, Sh. Aijaz Ahmad, witnessed enthusiastic participation from tribal residents, locals, and community stakeholders, creating a vibrant atmosphere of engagement and awareness.

A comprehensive overview of the campaign was shared with the attendees, highlighting the objective of achieving 100 percent saturation coverage of Government Welfare and Financial Inclusion Schemes, including PMJJDY, PMSBY, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, and other flagship schemes across remote tribal areas.

Several key government departments, including Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, FCS&CA, Education, J&K Bank, Lead Bank Office, Fisheries, PDD, ICDS, Health, Agriculture, Youth Services & Sports, Revenue, Polytechnic, and ITI, established informative stalls to showcase their flagship schemes and services. A total of 12 grievances from members of the tribal community were received during the camp, out of which 10 were resolved on the spot.

Beneficiaries were also provided with immediate assistance, awareness regarding their entitlements, and facilitation for availing government services. An awareness session on the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan was also conducted on the occasion by the BDO Bunjwah. A Gram Sabha was convened during the programme, fostering meaningful dialogue on community priorities. Participants actively discussed local issues, passed resolutions, and reinforced the importance of grassroots governance in the development process.

The event served as an invaluable platform for direct interaction between tribal communities and government officials, helping address grievances, promote transparency and strengthen mutual trust. Local residents and tribal elders expressed deep appreciation for the administration’s outreach efforts, observing that such initiatives are crucial in regions where access to essential services has traditionally remained limited.
