JAMMU: The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Sciences, Central University of Jammu, under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, organized an Intra-Institutional B-Plan Competition & Reward Best Innovations on the theme “Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Contemporary Scientific Research” in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC).
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture among students and faculty members by encouraging ideation, problem-solving, and research-driven innovation activities in higher educational institutions.
The event was conducted in the Aryabhata Building and the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and scholars across various Science departments of the university. A total of 15 posters were presented by 30 participants showcasing innovative ideas and applications of Artificial Intelligence in modern scientific research.
The programme was attended by distinguished faculty members including Dr. Sujata Kundan, Prof. Pawan Kumar, Dr. Satyanarayana Battula, Dr. K. Kanagaraj, Dr. Princy Gupta, Dr. Akshay Kumar, and Dr. Indranil Chatterjee. A distinguished jury panel evaluated the presentations, comprising Dr. Sujata Kundan, Prof. Vinay Kumar, Prof. Sunil Dhar, and Prof. Kamni Pathania.
Following a rigorous evaluation process, the jury selected the best innovations, and prizes were awarded to the winners securing the first, second, and third positions. The event provided an excellent platform for students to present innovative interdisciplinary ideas integrating Artificial Intelligence with scientific research methodologies.
The programme was convened by Dr. K. Kanagaraj and co-convened by Dr. Indranil Chatterjee from the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Sciences. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by the convener.
