JAMMU: Sat Sharma, BJP Jammu & Kashmir President and Member of Rajya Sabha, along with Yudhvir Sethi and former Minister Priya Sethi, today visited the Jammu Heritage Sports Museum situated at “Olympic Bhawan” in Karan Nagar Extension, Jammu.
The museum has been established by Ashutosh Sharma, former Administrator of the Sports Authority of India and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association. During the visit, the leaders interacted with several distinguished personalities from different walks of life and appreciated the efforts made towards preserving the sporting heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation took a detailed tour of the museum and viewed its rare collection of sports memorabilia, including vintage photographs, historical mementos, medals, trophies, certificates and items related to the Olympic and Asian Games. The visitors described the collection as inspiring and reflective of Prof. Ashutosh Sharma’s lifelong dedication to sports and social service.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma praised the initiative and said that the museum serves as a valuable institution for preserving the sporting history of the region and motivating the younger generation towards sports and discipline. He also assured financial support through MPLAD funds for the further development and strengthening of the museum infrastructure.
Yudhvir Sethi and Priya Sethi also noted that the museum houses valuable souvenirs, trophies and memorabilia related to numerous tournaments and sporting events organised by Prof. Sharma in different parts of the world. They congratulated Prof. Ashutosh Sharma for pursuing his passion for sports since childhood with true sportsman spirit. They termed the museum visit as a delightful and enriching experience and wished him continued success in life. The leaders extended their best wishes to Prof. Ashutosh Sharma for his good health and continued success in his future endeavours.
