SHOPIAN: As part of the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, a series of awareness and wellness activities were organised across various educational institutions of Shopian to promote a drug-free and healthy society.
Directorate of Ayush, in coordination with the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Shopian, conducted yoga, meditation, physical training, essay writing, anti-drug pledge and sports activities in different schools of the district.
A yoga and meditation session was held at NIPS, Zainapora, where more than 100 students participated in various asanas and pranayama exercises to focus on improving physical fitness, mental strength and overall well-being among students.
Similar awareness activities were also conducted in many educational institutions including Springdales Educational Institute Batapora, HS Gatipora, HS Saidpora Bala where students were sensitised about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle practices.
As part of the campaign, DYSSO Shopian also inaugurated the Under-14 and Under-17 Kho-Kho Tournament at Al Kowsar Institute, Vehil. All the programmes concluded with students taking a pledge to stay away from drugs, promote healthy habits and contribute towards building a drug-free society.
