KATHUA: The Self Enumeration under Census 2027 has gained momentum across Kathua District as the public participation in the process is picking up pace. Member Legislative Assembly Jasrota Rajeev Jasrotia and MLA Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan today completed their self-enumeration, reaffirming their support towards the nationwide exercise aimed at ensuring accurate and inclusive population data collection.
The self-enumeration process of MLA Kathua was carried out in the presence of ADDC Surinder Mohan Sharma at his residence. The district administration team provided detailed assistance regarding the step-by-step digital procedure. Similarly, Tehsildar Kathua Vikram Kumar alongwith his team assisted MLA Jasrota Rajeev Jasrotia in the smooth completion of the self-enumeration process.
Speaking on the occasion, the legislators appealed to the people to actively participate in the self-enumeration process, terming it an important exercise for effective planning and developmental policymaking in the country. They urged citizens to utilise the digital platform and complete the process from the comfort of their homes within the stipulated timeline.
The elected representatives appreciated the efforts of the District Administration Kathua in spreading awareness and facilitating the public regarding the self-enumeration process under Census 2027.
Meanwhile, the Charge Officers across the district are organising a series of awareness sessions, public outreach programmes and special camps to educate the masses about the importance, procedure and benefits of self-enumeration. The officers are sensitising people at Panchayat, ward and village levels and encouraging maximum public participation to ensure comprehensive and accurate coverage under Census 2027.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma said that the Self Enumeration process under Census 2027 is receiving encouraging public response across the district. He appealed to the citizens to actively participate in the exercise and complete self enumeration within the notified timeline. He further stated that the district administration has put in place dedicated teams, awareness camps and facilitation mechanisms to assist the public and ensure maximum participation in the nationwide exercise, which forms the foundation for effective planning and inclusive development.
