- Reviews civic amenities, contingency arrangements ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra
KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today conducted an inspection of designated lodgement centres in Hiranagar Sub Division to review the civic amenities and arrangements put in place for accommodating pilgrims in case of any contingency during the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SSP Mohita Sharma, ADC Vishavjeet Singh and local SDM Phulail Singh, besides other concerned officers. During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the facilities being made available at the lodgement centres including sanitation, drinking water supply, electricity, bedding arrangements, cleanliness, medical support, security measures and other essential amenities.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure that all requisite facilities are kept in a state of readiness and that proper coordination is maintained among departments for smooth management of any emergent situation during the Yatra period. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of maintaining hygiene, uninterrupted power and water supply, adequate lighting and proper security arrangements at all designated centres. He also instructed the officers to ensure timely completion of any pending works and keep sufficient manpower available for operational preparedness.
The SSP reviewed the security arrangements and emphasised close coordination among security agencies and civil administration to ensure effective management and safety at the lodgement centres. The officers accompanying the Deputy Commissioner briefed him regarding the preparedness measures undertaken and assured that all necessary arrangements would be put in place well in advance for hassle-free management during the Yatra period.
