BUDGAM: A wide range of awareness programmes, pledge ceremonies, plantation drives and outreach activities were organised across district Budgam under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) to spread awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free society.
At Higher Secondary School Chadoora, Higher Secondary School Bugam Chadoora and Government Higher Secondary School Zoohama Budgam, various awareness activities were organised with active participation of students and staff. The programmes included awareness sessions, rallies and pledge ceremonies aimed at sensitizing youth about the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles.
Municipal Committee (MC) Budgam also organised awareness and outreach activities under NMBA to educate people about the social and health consequences of drug addiction. Participants reiterated their commitment towards building a safer and drug-free society.
Government Degree College (GDC) Budgam in collaboration with District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) Budgam organised a Cyber Awareness Session under NMBA. During the programme, students were educated about cyber safety, responsible digital behaviour and the ill effects of drug abuse.
In Block SK Pora, awareness programmes under NMBA were conducted at various NREGA work sites and Panchayats to ensure that people at the grassroots level are equipped with the right information to tackle the menace of drug abuse. Workers and local residents were sensitized regarding preventive measures and the importance of community participation in combating substance abuse.
Meanwhile, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, forest officials of Soil Range Budgam organised a pledge-cum-plantation and awareness programme at Boys Middle School Khanpora. Students and staff were sensitized about the harmful effects of drugs and pledged to spread awareness against substance abuse in society.
The activities witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, officials, Panchayat representatives and members of the local community, reflecting a collective commitment towards making Budgam a drug-free district.
The district administration is committed towards sustained awareness campaigns and collaborative initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to safeguard youth and strengthen community participation in the fight against drug abuse.
