JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and MLA from Bahu Assembly Constituency, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, held a public grievances camp at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to listen to and address the concerns of the people from different areas of the constituency.
Er. T.K. Sharma accompanied Vikram Randhawa during the proceedings of the grievances camp. The camp witnessed participation from several deputations and individuals who raised civic, social, and developmental issues requiring immediate attention.
During the interaction, deputations from Gole Market Gandhi Nagar, Sector-11 Trikuta Nagar, and Gangyal Garden highlighted the issue of erratic and polluted water supply in their respective areas and sought immediate intervention for ensuring clean and regular drinking water. A deputation from Preet Nagar requested the upgradation of ration cards and issuance of Ayushman cards for eligible beneficiaries.
A deputation from R.S. Pura appealed for compassionate appointment in a pending case, while residents from Madina Hills, Sunjwan demanded the construction of a 300-meter road along with a protection wall and proper sewerage system in the locality. Residents of Poonchi Mohalla, Gorakh Nagar requested the shifting of electric wires passing dangerously over residential houses.
Similarly, a deputation from Old Basti Bahu Fort sought repair and maintenance of damaged lanes and drains in the area. Another deputation from Sector-11, Nanak Nagar requested sanction of social assistance for a daughter’s marriage under the relevant welfare scheme. Residents from Nanak Nagar also urged for raising the boundary wall of a nallah and construction of lanes and drains to prevent inconvenience during rains.
Vikram Randhawa, speaking on the occasion, assured the deputations that all genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned departments for early redressal. He said that public welfare and prompt resolution of people’s grievances remain his top priority.
Vikram Randhawa stressed that public representatives must remain accessible to the people and work sincerely to resolve their day-to-day issues. Such grievance camps provide an effective platform for direct interaction with citizens and help in ensuring responsive governance, he added.
