POONCH: The District Administration Poonch today organized a grand celebration to mark 150 years of the National Song Vande Mataram at the DGC Auditorium Hall. The event was held in sync with the national programme led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who addressed the nation live from the Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi. Event was also streamed live from Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, where Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

In Poonch, the celebration witnessed the presence of Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma; Senior Superintendent of Police, Shafket Hussain Bhat; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Mohd Sayeed and Assistant Commissioner (Development), Shakeel Ahmed, along with other officers from the civil and police administration.

Students from Government Degree College Poonch and other educational institutions of the district participated with great enthusiasm. They delivered insightful speeches highlighting the historical significance and patriotic essence of Vande Mataram and presented soulful renditions of patriotic songs to mark the occasion.

The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, filling the hall with patriotic zeal and national pride. While addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, educational institutions and officials for their active involvement and contribution in making the programme a grand success.
