RAJOURI: A District Level Programme was today organized by the Rajouri Administration  to commemorate 150 years of India’s National Song — “Vande Mataram.” The event witnessed vibrant participation of citizens, students and officials, reflecting deep patriotic zeal and reverence for the national pride. The celebrations commenced with a grand rally from the DC Office Complex to the Dak Bungalow, which was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma.

A Photo Exhibition depicting the historical journey, significance and legacy of “Vande Mataram” was also held at Dak Banglow. The exhibition attracted a large number of visitors and students, who were briefed about the evolution and importance of the song in India’s freedom struggle. Later, the participants sang the national song in unison, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotic spirit.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma highlighted the profound historical and cultural significance of “Vande Mataram” and said that the song symbolizes unity, sacrifice and devotion to the motherland. He urged the participants, especially the youth, to uphold the spirit of nationalism and contribute to nation-building with sincerity and dedication.

The event also featured the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s programme, which was attended by officers, students and members of civil society. Similar commemorative events were also organized across all sub-divisions of District Rajouri to mark the historic occasion.
